David Nowels, MD

David Nowels, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is co-director of the Palliative Medicine Fellowship program, and has also served as faculty for the Life Quality Institute, as Medical Director for The Denver Hospice, and clinical consultant to Health Decisions, Inc. He was a founding director of the Population-based Palliative Care Research Network and has taught in numerous settings on topics such as spirituality in health care, discussing advance directives, care of the dying, management of pain and fatigue, and ethical issues in research, and end-of-life care.
