Bart Windrum is the author of the award-winning book, Notes From the Waiting Room: Managing a Loved One's End of Life Hospitalization, and an eBook, How to Efficiently Settle the Family Estate. Notes includes the sociopolitical reform initiative, The Option to Die in PEACE: Patient Ethical Alternative Care Elective.
Bart functioned as Medical Power of Attorney during his parents' end-of-life hospitalizations, and as estate trustee thereafter. Bart offers a unique perspective-the informed lay person's experience of terminal hospitalization. Unconstrained by institutional interests, Bart dissects the nature of our hospital experiences, articulates how to advocate during any hospitalization, and offers guidance for how to manifest your resolve and position yourself to die in peace.
